Default HUD help

2017 Mazda 6 HUD display has suddenly stopped working. The plastic cover piece still opens and closes with turning the vehicle on/off but there is nothing showing on the display. (MPH, distance recognition, sped limit, etc.)
Can anyone give me suggestions on what the problem is or how to fix it?

Go into the MZD screen and check the setting for the HUD, it may of been accidentally turned off.

I did check for that. It is not turned off, in fact looking through the windshield at the HUD I can see the information being projected from the display (for lack of the correct term) that information is not reaching the HUD to be displayed there.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Book it in with Mazda for a software update.
