HELP - Buying a 2006 Wagon Toronto
I am looking at buying a 2006 Mazda 6 Wagon GS with GFX Package with 0km in Toronto Canada. The list is $30,695 right now with $4500 cash back. The Freight, PDI and Gas Tax is waived. So the car is 26,195 + tax.
I have been doing lots of research about the car and overall looks good. The only thing that worries me at this point is the Duratec engine. In short should I be worried about reliability and gas milleage? My wife commutes to work approx 60km per dayand we travel heavely in the summer to the cottage (that's why we need a wagon) and is a very reasonable driver. Our current car is 2002 VW Jetta 4cyl. that gets good milleage so I'm sure we'll see a decrease. Any comments or suggestions are appricated. Thanks everyone. |

Please read the post on 3-12 at 6:16 about gas milage. 25 or 26 highway.
I wouldn't worry about the duratech. Mazda has made some modifications to it but the milagemay beanother issue. |
RE: HELP - Buying a 2006 Wagon Toronto
My wife has 51,000 miles on her Mazda6 Sportwagon (3.0L Auto) with no issues to report.
Mileage runs around 24 mpg |

Just to remind you that the US gallon is only about 4 litres while the Canadian gallon is about 4.54 litre. So the mpg of the same car will be higher in the Great White North.

3.79L per US Gallon.....I believe in Canada you rate mileage by L/100km
24 mpg (US) would be 9.8 L/100km, or 28.8 miles/UK gallon or 46.3 km/UK gal |
