Default Complete Power Loss? Electrical Haywire

Hello all new to the forum, I've got an 06 6 2.3, today I parked the car, then went back out 5 mins later and the car was dead. I turned the key to the on position and felt the Fan blowing cold air, (I left the a/c on) and then when I went to start it nothing. I took the key out and noticed the Tach, speedo, temp gas all the gauges were spazzing out. Headlights wont work, brake lights wont work, nothing, but I am getting some very dim indicator lights, (door open, seatbelt etc.) I hooked it up to a battery charger and it didnt do anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? or has anyone experienced this problem?

Sounds like a near perfect description of power supply problem rabirza. If the battery will not take a charge with the charger then it could well be shorted out internally.

though i usually don't suggest it, did you try taking off the NEG cable for a couple minutes? i've seen it fix some screwy issues like that on a 3 before.

i like to scan before resetting to help diagnose, but if that's not an option, then give the reset a try
