Default Fuel gauge always on E with light on

My fuel gauge always reads empty. I did research and ended up changing the fuel pump because the idiot friend of mine who fakes fixing cars swore when he sold me the car that if I replaced the pump it'd fix this problem. Well I deftly switched it and nothing changed.

What the heck should I do now?!
