Hey everybody my first day here.... im in school right now, and im bored so i decided to join this forum! lol

So yea i just got my Mazda6, and it is a nice ride. I love it, just got it sunday!

Its all stock and i was wondering what mods should i start out with. i dont want it to stay stock for too long =]

 

CAI is always a good one to start with, adds some HP across the powerband (our cars need all the help they can get down low in the rpm range) and it sounds nice too. Exhaust on our cars will not yeild any hp gain and is a cosmetic/ sound upgrade. Lighter wheels can free up a bit more power too. Hmm what mods you get really depends on what you are gonna do with your car though. I'd say the CAI definitely and then from there ask your self what you want to do with the car. Do you want a show car that's gonna look nice but not be real fast, or would you rather have something fast, but leave out the dress-up bits that do nothing but look nice and add weight?

CAI = Cold Air Induction

These are kits which eliminate the stock (restrictive) air box (the place where your air filter is located) and replaces it with a high-flow air filter that draws cool air from inside a front fender or further forward in the engine compartment, away from the engine heat.

Remember cooler air = more dense intake charge (more O2 per volume) = more HP!

My Mazda6 came standard with that.My dealercalled it an intercooler.

That's a different part. A intercooler is a part that cools off the air that is compressed by a turbocharger before it gets dumped into the engine, it looks like a secondary radiator. A CAI is a less restrictive intake that replaces the stock airbox, it looks like a pipe coming out of the engine with a firler on the end of it.

We have it on my wifes 6, grounding wires amd a voltage stabalizer. I am thinking about puting a Weapon R intake on it. The car does seem to lag a bit on low end but it's a 4cyl. The wires and stabalizer did help a good bit with power tho.
