Common Mazda 6 Repairs?

About 6 months ago I bought a 2010 Mazda6 iTouring with about 40k miles on it. Along with the car I also bought a 5 year, 100k full service warranty. This covers everything besides your regular wear and tear (oil changes, brake pads, etc). I paid about $1600 for it and I'm starting to wonder if it was worth it. I still have to option to cancel the warranty and get my money back at a prorated rate.

I just had to get all 4 of my rotors and brake pads replaced and it costed about $560 and it wasn't covered by the warranty (it was considered regular wear and tear). I can get most of my $1600 back and use that money to make up for this rotors/brakes repair, then use the rest of that money for whatever future repairs come around.

For those of you that own Mazda 6's, what are some common repairs that you have had to have done and how much did it cost? Do you think its a good idea to keep that $1600 with the warranty, or just keep that money in my bank account and use it as repairs are needed. I am just afraid that there are some $3,000 dollar repairs that Mazda 6's might need (although I highly doubt this...my car has been very reliable).

Thanks!

As long as the 5 yrs service plan covers absolutely everything in your service book &/or owners manual then $1600 is very good.

Servicing where I work is every 6 months or 10,000kms (6,000 miles) (Soon to be 12 months) = 10 services over 10 years, and a average of $160 per service.

I know in Australia you can go to the Mazda website, enter your rego or chassis number and see the full list & cost of servicing your car at each service.

You will/should have done a coolant flush and fill. Brake fluid change. Transmission oil change (don't let Mazda tell you it's life, especially if you don't have an external separate tranny cooler!) especially if automatic. PCV valve should be changed (but not according to Mazda, they never change it). Spark plugs due between 60-70 K miles. Throttle body cleaning.
