CODE P0451 Replace Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Canister
YES. Ther is no safe or not safe you are simply clearing the DTC which turns off the check engine light. The DTC remains in the ECU until the cause was corrected. The ECU may turn the check engine light back on if the correction has not been reported to the ECU after 1 or more complete engine cycles or if irregularities are reported to the ECU.
I noticed that the check engine light went away today. It was warm today and I drove for about an hour. When I started out the light was on. On my way home I noticed that the light was off. Hopefully, the light will not go back on. I assume the cold temperature change here caused the problem originally.

The ECU runs any DTC through at least 1-3 complete engine cycles. An engine cycle is a complete cool down and restart. Like you park for the evening and then start the next morning is one drive cycle. If the issue corrected itself due to anomalous reporting to the ECU the check engine light should return unless there were other or new issues unresolved.
