Default CMU failure at 30K and $$$ to fix

My Mazda 6 2016 infotainment system surprisingly started a recycle loop during boot. Apparently it's the CMU and $1,000 to fix. I've seen various posts of similar issues, but on contacting Mazda I got a firm 'out of warrantee' message. I like the car greatly but this failure of a standard electronics system at 30 K miles and a +$1,000 bill with lack of Mazda interest is disturbing. Wondering if others have had this experience.

Update: I paid the Mazda dealer (over $1,200) and they replaced CMU. All works well now.

I introduced a syntax error updating the USB audio app and got into a boot loop, but I was able to get it to read a new tweak and fix it. I remember reading about one guy that had to get a new unit from the dealer, which totally sucked. Basically if you screw it up you'll be stuck on the last radio Tutuapp 9Apps Showbox station you tuned and can't do anything.

Yes but during the Mazda diagnostic visit they must have goosed it because that last radio station was lost. Seems that once the CMU is broke you get to pay the $1200.
