Welcome to the forum
Check battery voltage
Then using jumper lean wire 10gauge preferably try to manually actuate the stater at the starter solenoid.

When it starts you will likely get a check engine light. If it is your starter gone bad the light will go off withing a day after you get the starter replaced.

If you have a service shop replace your starter make sure you ask them to check the health of your battery! Don't be surprised if it not good and needing to be replaced.

This was the dumbest fail of me ever. I checked the battery as suggested and the voltage was 10.3 V
today replaced battery and the car starts like a charm.
one worry for me is how come the old battery (while old - around 5 years) went so low within a week. I didnt drive it for a week.

i will keep monitor the new battery for some days while I am not using it and see if there is any drop in voltage.

Your battery was going bad long before you had the no start issue.

5 years is actually really good these days for a battery to last.
