CAI for a 2007 Mazda 6

I'm new to the field of car modifications and wanted to see if someone can recommend a good CAI for a 2007 Mazda 6 with the 2.3l? I want to do some modifications that don't cost to much, like the CAI.

Thanks.

I'd look at AEM, as all the intakes for the I4 have about the same power increase, and the AEM filter doesn't use oil. If cheap is the name of ur game and u are more after the sound, then I'd suggest the airbox mod. other cheap/free mods include: shaving the door guards, brake light mod, side indicator to blinker mod, clear side indicators, painting engine cover, painting brake calipers, and that's about all i can think of currently.
Getting onto more costly mods (these require proper research and thought as they will change the behavior of your car significantly or can mess up your car right out if done improperly):
1. Wheels and tires- i'd recommend no bigger than 18" and the offset should be no less than 49mm or you will almost be guaranteed to get rub (this can mess up your tires AND your fenders)
2. Swabars - will keep the car more level durring cornering and, if you buy them as a set, can give the car very neutral handling while cornering at speed.
3. Lowering springs - use caution if you decide to get these and for the love of god PLEASE research before you decide which ones you want as improper springs can cause all sorts of fun problems.
4. Shocks - will stiffen up the ride and allow for better handling characteristics, if you lower the car, it is HIGHLY recomended that you change these out at the same time.

Those are all the basic and intermediate mods i can think of off the top of my head. All the others i know of are for the v6 as that is what i drive. Good luck man, and have fun with the car! Also remember; When modding a car you can have cheap, fast, or reliable, you are only allowed to pick two.

I would agree with the AEM CAI. I just bought my 07 2.3l five months ago and just recently purchased my first modification which was the AEM cai. I haven't intalled it yet because the temp. hasn't been above freezing yet so i can't say how it performs, but AEM is one of the best names in intake systems. It was only $240 with tax %ship. Great way to begin modifications.
