Blown what?
 

Hi everyone,
I doubt anyone can help me, my Defog relay (rear demister) I replaced with a new relay and when I switched on the Defog there was a burning smell. I quickly switched off and checked the relay. Relay works but alas it has a diode fitted across the coil the wrong way around so provides a short circuit to the relay coil drive circuit. Checked the voltage to the coil position and 0.36V.

What brand relay did you fit? Genuine?
