Blower motor stopped working
I have a 2004 Mazda 6 3.0 Sport Wagon with automatic climate control.
The blower motor has completely stopped working on all speeds. The speed indicator still works on the readout, but the motor never turns on-- not unlike my wife (wait for laughter). I have powered the motor directly with 12v, and it works, so I know it must have something to do with a switch/relay/resistor and not the motor itself. When I ground the motor directly to the battery, the motor still fails to run; however, when the motor is grounded directly to the battery, the blower will run briefly (about 3 seconds) right after the ignition is turned off. This does not happen when the motor is connected via the wiring harness plug. Any ideas where the problem lies? |
Check the fan resistor

Thank you for the reply. I am
thinking it's the resistor as well, but I am having touble finding its location. I have looked up a picture of the replacement part, but so far, I have not been able to locate anything that resembles resistor that I am seeing in the pictures. I have been looking behind the glove box. Am I looking in the correct location? |
