I have this function on so the cat locks when I walk away with the key. Problem is sometimes it does not work which leaves me in a worse situation than if I didn't have the function at all. Please fix this Mazda!!!!!

 

I have a Touring and had the same experience. What I have discovered is the way you walk away from the car effects when the doors lock. If you get out and walk past your rear door (and its sensor) the car locks. If you step out your door and walk straight out to the side the rear senser doesn't detect you walking away and the door doesn't lock. Dumb.
