alarm goes of when i use the key
Hi
We've jsut bought a mazda 6 (2005 model, of it matters) when I use the second key to open the doors (not the remote or the key wit the remote), the alarm goes off. I'm sure this can't be right, but is it a fault, or do I need to do something clever when openeing the doors, to stop it happening. thanks |
RE: alarm goes of when i use the key
You have to use the remote to turn off the alarm before you open the door.If you don't, the alarm will go off regardless of how you open the door, with a key or by force.

What happens if you remote fob is not working (which I have an issue with today?) is there a sequence or a way I can use the key to turn the alarm off and arm the alarm with just the key until i get a new fob?

The only way is to unlock the car with the fob and then only use the lock button inside or the key. Using the fob activates/deactivates the alarm but the key (unless Mazda is dif from all other cars) will just activate/deactivate the lock, not the alarm.

Hi there. I found how i can stop the alarm going off when only using the key. In the drivers side door I held the key towards the UNLOCK position for about 3 or 4 seconds which seems to disable the alarm so I could then open the door without the alarm going off. Doing this means i can use the car now without having to use the fob.
