Default 2017 Touring AC problems

I have a 2017 6 Touring with the automatic control AC. A couple of months ago the AC blower started working erratically. I replaced the Control Module/Blower Motor Resistor with a unit from Orielly's. And, yes, I got the one that said it was for the automatic control unit. For a short time the AC worked fine with the exception that the fan speed was backwards. If you turned the fan speed all the way up manually the AC fan would shut off and run at full blast when set at lowest speed. When the AC was put in auto it would try to put the fan speed on HI and shut off. Now it's a couple of months later and the blower will not work most of the time. It works occaisonally, but it will come on when it wants to. I need to say as well that due to the fan speed backwards issue I went back to Orielly's and traded out the first unit i bought for an exact replacement and had the exact same issue with the fan speed.
I guess what I am asking is, has anyone else had this issue before? What do I need to do? Should I return the part to Orielly's and go get one from the nearest Mazda dealership? Could it be another issue? Another part? A short? Any advice would be appreciated!

There is no easy answer, and I would STOP replacing random parts guessing they are the problem.
I would also caution you the fan requires a large amp draw and messing with it and a condition as you described can have a negative effect. Vehicles have caught fire for DIY adventures having to do with the blower operations.
At this point I highly recommend that you look for a independent service shop that actually advertises working on HVAC systems. (see shops that have ASE signage or in their ad) These shops will have at least one qualified HVAC system mechanic or better (ASE Diagnostic Technician) to diagnosis and or do the service repair on your HVAC system,
The basic diagnostic should only be 1 hour. If you choose to do this you can post the findings from the shop either here on open forum or PM. Either way there are 2 regular members that are qualified in the latest Mazda HVAC system and can tell you if the shop is honest with their assessment and service cost.

Wow, had no idea that fire could result from this problem. I appreciate the info and advice.
Thanks Callisto!
