Hi everyone. I need a workshop manual for a R2 Diesel engine, or at the least a diagram of the cam and chain timing diagrams, can anyone help , please.

Thanks a lot for this. Any chance of a high res version I can blow up big to say A4 size. Does this show the actual timing marks, also I need the info on timing the 2 cam gears up, as this has jumped the chain.

I cant get a better picture.

However, the camshaft pulley has a timing mark at 12 o'clock, count the chain link at this position as link #1. The timing mark on the crank pulley is at about 4 o'clock and will be chain link 25 going clockwise.

 

OK, that's great, thanks for all your help. The oil pump etc has balance shafts in, do you know if the pump chain has to be timed up too for the balance shafts to be right, the sprocket has a red arrow on it. Also any idea if the general timing is cy1 tdc? Then I can double check with a dial gauge, thanks again, simon.

 

I notice the oil pump chain has 2 gold links. These I reckon line up with a pin in the side of the rear crankshaft sprocket and the red arrow on the oil pump/ balance shaft sprocket. Any chance of confirming this please? Thanks in advance, simon
