Question 2006 MAZDA 6 Lock problem on all doors

Need help!!!!!

I have a 2006 mazda 6.
Only way i can lock my car doors now is by manually pressing the button on the doors. I can not lock them by pressing the central lock button on drivers door or using my key (remote). But the unlock works both on my key(remote) and by pressing unlock button on drivers door.

I believe this is not an issue with my key (remote) or its battery because the unlock(all doors), trunk open work well with my remote.

Any clue what is causing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Check the drivers door lock switch for continuity when locking the doors .In some cases the drivers door lock could cause all the other locks not to work because all the gound or power feeds come from the drivers door lock switch

Unhappy Dealers solution for this problem

Took my car to the dealer, explained the problem and they ran some tests.

This is what they came up with: 'FOUND BCM TO HAVE INTERNAL SHORT NEC TO REPLACE EST 511.41 PLUS TAX'.

Has anyone got this done before? I have no clue what this is....

The BCM is the Body Control Module.
It controls locks, interior lights, security system to name a few thing it controls
It does cost a lot, plus programing but you are better off with a new one than a used.
