Default 2004 Mazda 6 rotors

I have a 2004 Mazda 6 with just over 40k miles. I had the rotors turned around 32 or 33k miles due to vibration in the steering wheel when braking. I assumed the rotors were just warped. The problem is just starting to return. Rotors shouldn't be doing this after 7k miles. Has anyone else experienced problems with rotors, or know of any problems with them in general? Are they just undersized for the car (design problem?) I appreciate any comments anyone has.

the Mazda 6 rotors are known to have problems with warping, but the braking system overall is more than adequate. Sorry i can't help..Just know that if you get new rotors at some point to not get direct OEM replacements

'03 & '04 MZ6 have had front brake issues. When you had them repaired the first time, was it at a dealer? If so take it back, there's
a service bulletin 04-004/04 for '03 &'04 front brake judder. This bulletin was update with procedure, parts & wty. The wty was
extended to 36 months from delivery date & to 50,000miles. Requires the dealer to use a caliper mounted brake lathe, if not available
their were to replace the rotors & pads. It sounds like they didn't have the right brake lathe, for them to warp again so soon.

Thanks for the input. We bought the car used (and not from a dealer). I had the rotors turned at an automotive machine shop. I guess I'll just buy a set of better rotors for the car and hope they don't warp like the OEM rotors have been doing. Thanks again!

If the vehicle is still under warranty, why would you use out of pocked money to repair something that can be done for free. Go to your dealer and tell them that you hear a noise from front when braking during turns in a parking lot and that the pedal/steering wheel shakes at freeway speeds. They should install a set of updated brake pads, hardware, and machine or replace the rotors FREE OF CHARGE to you.

My 6 had the same thing. At about 20k I got the shudder. The dealership said my rotors were warped and I must have been braking too hard. [sm=smiley24.gif] They turned the rotors and at about 25k its back again. I guess I should take it in again and have them replace the rotors instead of turning them.
