1996 626 Temperature gauge not working
 

Hi,
I am new to this forum and appriciate any help or suggestions.

My son has a1996 4 cyl 626.Temperature gauge isnot working and thetemperature gauge lights are not working. Replaced the Temperature sensor on engine..no help. A localrepair shop would not touch it. They said to bring it to the dealer.I am not inclined to do that.. How can I test theTemperature gauge ? Is replacing a Temperature gauge a "do it yourself" job ? thanks !!
