Hi all,
I just purchased a new to me 09 Mazda 6i Sport. I’m new to the Mazda brand and I really like this car! Zoom Zoom is right 😁!

I’m having an issue with the advanced keyless entry. I can lock unlock the car with the key in the key fob but cannot lock it from the outside using the button on the driver door. If I try to a get a sequence of three fast beeps that repeats 6 times. The battery in the fob is good and I can start the car with the push button normally without having to insert the key. I also get a steady beep when I open the driver door as if there was a key in the ignition but ACC is not on, or at least the light on the push button for ACC is not on. I also cannot lock the car with the fob. I’m wondering if somehow there is a problem with the ignition and it thinks there is a key in it and that’s why I’m not able to lock the car with the fob or the button on the driver door.

Thanks for any help. I’ve never owned a car with this feature and I’ve been all through the user manual and YouTube trying to figure this out.

 

Sounds like the spare key is stuck inside the vehicle.

 

i thought of that and looked all through the vehicle and didn’t find one.

I’m wondering if it’s the key reminder switch or the ignition because when you open the driver door it dings as if there’s a key in the ignition, even though it’s push button start.
