Retro Fitting Cruise Control + Front Fog Lights?

Hi im about to get a Mazda 5 2.0d TS2 on friday and would like to know if its possible to retro fit cruise control and front fog lights? I retro fitted cruise control to my zafira very easily, it was just a case of buying the stalk and getting it on the tech 2 machine at vauxhall to enable it as all the wireing was already in place! and I like my cars to have front fogs its just a fettish of mine! any help much appreciated!

If the wiring is anything like the Mz3 then you should be able to do both. On the 3 you need to add the steering wheel cruise switches, and replace the brake switch in order to enable cruise control. Note this only works on 3's which have drive by wire throttle while all NA ones do, but some EU/Asian cars do not.

For the fog lights, again it's possible. Check under the front bumper where the fogs would be and see if there is a wiring plug on each side. If so then you'd likely simply need the housings to put in the bumper and a replacement headlight stalk with the switch. If not then it's a simple matter to get a generic kit and install them yourself and wire up a separate switch to go on the dash in one of the empty slots.

Thanks, ive just read the installing cruise control in the mazda 3 section, and it seems simple enough, just need to find out if my car has fly by wire or not!

Do you know if they are fly by wire? I know it wasnt even an option untill 2008, if they are not fly by wire then it wont be worth doing, if they are then i think it will be easy to do!

There car is going back to the dealers, and im getting a seat altea xl instead, too many things wrong with the mazda, i think the ts2 spec is poor and they didnt have any diesel sports so the mazda is a gonner!
