Ouch, you could have warned me.

So at 6 years old, the big service is due in my 2.0D sport
Now when I bought the car 5 and 1/2 years ago, this was £800 on their board.
I thought no problem, i'll get the belt done at an independent.
Even they want £750 to replace just the belt!

The main dealer, not where I bought it, won't ever use Bourne road crayford again, in Bromley said a full service is £1410!!!!!

He even advised that most sell their 5s, or don't bother until 75k

Guess I'll be getting the tools out once again on my 5 and do it myself. No way am I leaving the belt till the last minute, seen too many snap in the past.

I'm buying a ferrari next to reduce the service costs!

I see you have a diesel. You will have DPF issues, especially if you do alot of short trips!
I just read another thread where you said yours is removed!

Yep been there done it. I don't actually do a lot of short trips, I just don't use the car everyday. Though I don't do a lot of motorway miles, except when travelling abroad. I would have got a petrol, and was buying a new one, but this came up at 6 months old and was perfect, as it had the leather and electric door/xenon pack.
Yes I did the naughty thing and removed it, car is so much better now, and at least 3mpg more.

Also sorted the tyre issue, fingers crossed, along with having replaced the rear shocks and springs.

This car has cost me money, and I like the car as a whole, so now most of the issues are sorted, I want to keep it a while, as I tend to.
When it does get replaced, though, it won't be a Mazda or a modern diesel.
