Mazda5 1.8 06 hole in the block
Hi, i am a noob here so appologies if i have put this in the wrong place, i am looking for some advice on fixing my Mazda5.
I had to be towed home this morning as the aa guy said there was a hole in the block.
What are my options can it be fixed or do i need a new engine. What engines will fit in, i can find 2.0 engines on ebay but no 1.8 or i saw possibly a mazda 3/6 engine would fit.

How odd. The only engine offered in the US in an 06 Mazda5 was the 2.3 as far as i know. What country are you in? I think i would check the engine for this hole before i bought a new one too. Did it knock before it quit on you? Need more info please.

Yea,sounds bad. If it were me i would check out the used engines coming from Japan. In Japan they have to replace the engines every 60k miles for strict emissions inspections. They sell those engines as low mileage engines all over the world. Many companies sell them. Try Japanengines.com or some variation.
