Default Mazda 5 Rear Bumper

Hi,
does anyone know if the rear bumper from the newer Mazda 5 (2007/8) will fit on an original 2005/6 model. The original one had narrow elongated reflectors where as they were then changed to bigger more square type around 2007/8. I need a replacement rear bumper and can see quite a few available from the slightly newer models but wonder if they fit. I know the current model is a different bumper completely so will not fit.

Anyone know and how much should I expect to pay to have the replacement bumper resprayed if needed (UK prices)?

Thanks..

Cant say for definite but would be very surprised if you couldn't. I also had a quick look on google image and there are updated models with the silver rear lights with both types of reflectors.

Having had my bumper of to fit a towbar I cant see any reason what they would make them any different to fit.

What you pay for paint will depend where you take it but it would certainly be cheaper to try and find the right colour from a scrappy. What colour are u looking for?

Hi ggsumo,

I'm looking for a silver - think its moonlight silver. I've seen a second hand one that can be supplied supplied sprayed to colour for £150 but it is for the one with the larger reflectors. Also not sure if I would need loads of new grommets etc for fixing.

How easy is it to remove and refit ?

Easy - just make sure you have a blanket to lay it down on whilst off the car. I fitted a towbar to mine which involved changing the crossbeam as well as taking the bumper off.

Took about 1.5 hours to do the lot - bumper takes about 15 - 20 minutes.

£150 in the right colour doesnt sound to sad to me.
