Trading in 09 gt 5 for 2012 gt 5
Hello All, I am hoping to get some help/advise for my wife and I as we are looking to trade in her 09 pearl white 5 for the updated 2012 model. She has not been real happy with her car but it is more the service from dealer that has been a pain, tires or rims have been lumpy since new, trans slips then bangs in gear at rolling stops, and other minor probs, service tells us everytime they cant find or feel anything so we are going to trade to different dealer while it has value. The new model is great since they improved the motor and I like the interior incl. seats.( I like 09 grill better)Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew what the story is with the invoice price, they tell us we are buying at their price but why would they do that? We live in Connecticut and trading the 09 white loaded gt getting 14k torwards 23,500 for loaded 5 gt (not white). What is the way to find the best price? Also does anyone know how hard it would be to take out the mazda remote start from 09 and put in the 2012 since they said it is 500 to upfit and I would like to keep mazda remote system and not cheaper aftermarket. Thanks for any advise in advance, Tedd

hi stacey and tedd i have worked for dealers over the years .belive me when i tell you they never sell at dealer invoice .if they prove to you they do sell at dealer invoice cost then theres hidden cost some where that are adding on to the cost of the 2012 mazda 5 my2012 mazda 5 listed at $25,600. the best i could get them to take off was $1,500.00 and that took me two days to get the deal done lol they told me it was a new modle and there was not that many 2012 mazda5s to be bought at the time i am very happy with my 2012 mazda 5 my 2009 mazda5 did the same thing slips bangs rolling stop they found out it was the torque converter trying to lock up then disengaugeing thats the bang your wife hears they changed the computer with a brand new computer on my 2009 mazda5 and the bang went away . dont know on the remote start change over ..its about a 1/1/2 to 2 hour install job so if you had it taken out it might cost you $150.00 then reinstall it one more $150.00 thats $300.00 a new one installed is $425.00 at my dealer good luck spencerfvee
