Mazda 5 Battery Replacement...Tricks?

Hi there,

Newbie here...

I do know how to replace a battery, but I have an 06 5 and I am having an issue getting the old battery out. It is darn cold here in Winnipeg and I played around with it a bit but my hands are frozen!

What is the secret for getting the old one out? There does not appear to be enough room to lift it out? How many parts do I have to remove? The stupidest battery placement I have ever encountered.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Many batteries have handles built in. If you don't have handles you could try hooks. For example hooks that are used to open paint cans. https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/dat...AAAAAAAAB//9k=
