Looking to buy Mazda 5, but manual? Help!

I've been looking to buy a Mazda 5 and I was specifically wanting a manual. All my older cars are Mazda and all are manual (like Miata NA).
However, I've read a lot of complaints about the Mazda 3 developing problems with synchros and the 3rd gear popping out. I understand this vehicle uses the same engine and transmission.
Also, I read complaints about the Mazda 5 clutch itself needing replacement very often.

My older mazdas have reached over 200,000 before needing replacement, these 90's Mazdas are great cars.

You guys know this vehicle so I thought I'd ask here. Are these complaints generally BS or should I just surrender to an automatic in this vehicle?
I'm looking at Mazda 5's 2012 and newer.

*Thanks for the tip to look out for rust.

I can't recall any Mazda 3 manual gearboxes packing up or having issues. ( Been working on them since 2005. )

No problem with 2008 Mazda5 clutch

I have 110K miles on my 2008 Mazda5 and the clutch still works fine. Never replaced it yet. I am currently working on the SRS with a 19 code. Wish I had a good SRS tester. I am going to test with 2.2 ohm resistors to narrow down.

Have you tried Forscan?
