How to Replace Front Wheel Stud

I was fixing a flat when one the wheel stud broke off. Anyone done wheel stud replacement here? Any special tools or tricks on doing it? Any help is appreciated.

Really? None of you had a broken wheel stud you had to replaced?

Good luck to you.

Not me either. That stuff is for the shop. People with torches for possible heating up.
Congrats to Tanprotege for reaching 600 posts! This guy is a fountain of knowledge!

The shop wants $60 to replace the stud so I may just try it myself first since the part is only $10. Any pointers?

Hey, that looks pretty easy, even for a DIY'er. Wish I had a broken stud to try it out - oh wait, no I don't. ;-)

It's like tae kwan do: proper stance and breathing techniques! Practice, practice, practice!

That was a great video, part at end "dinner's ready" is classic. Mechanic working in garage all the time, LOL.
I am surprised no harm comes to wheel bearing and seals with that big sledgehammer swing. I would have thought they would have removed the hub assembly to protect damage to wheel bearings, seals.
