Default False alarm activation problem

I have a 2012 Mazda 5 and the alarm keeps going off at random times for no reason. It has been plugged into a computer and the message is that the internal sensors detect an intrusion. Deactivating them with the fob button didn't help, I even unpluged the sensors from the unit in the roof but the alarm still goes off. The only current solution is locking the car with the key at the drivers door (apparently this just locks the car and doesn't set the alarm). I have read on some threads people had alarm problems after fitting a new battery. This car did also have a new battery but the problem didn't start immediately after fitting it - and why would a new battery cause this problem?
Any one got any suggestions as to what is wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks.
