Corrosion on alloy wheels.
Hi all i own a mazda 5 furano 2007 model had it from new and only done 11500 miles i have corrosion on 3 of the wheels, Been to dealers today and they said mazda might only replace 3 of the wheels under the warrantry (which i only have 2 months left of it) my concern is the other one will look odd e.g. colour match. I also have a bit of rim scuff on one and the dealer also said mazda might not replace this one. So my question is as anybody had issues like this or should they replace all 4......
Thanks.. |
They'll only replace ones which have corroded due to a defect. If you have a scuffed wheel they may consider that to be the cause of the corrosion. I wouldn't worry about colour match, just give your old wheel a good clean and polish and they should all match.

thanks for your re-ply nick..
The corrosion on the wheel that is scuffed is no were near the scuffed part of the wheel so fingers crossed they will replace it. Just waiting on the re-ply from mazda now keep you imformed once again thanks... |
well. Often corrosion is due to leaving salt and other road grime on the wheel. After time it will nibble on the coating. But this seems too soon for this to be the cause. Good thing we have warranties.
