Unhappy Closed loop but no O2 sensor ?

I was having rough idles with my Mazda 5 (JDM spec 2 liter), so I was doing some diagnosis. And I have a android OBDII reader using Torque app.

The O2 sensor was giving voltage signals when I press the accelerator.

Then I unplug the top and bottom O2 sensors connector in the engine bay. Start up the car but no CEL. Launch Torque, no voltage reading from the sensors (expected), but it says the fuel system is in Closed Loop. I left it idle for 15 mins, still showing closed loop.

Is this expected or something wrong with the ECU or wiring ?
