2014 Mazda 5 Key, immobilizer
Well all that digging paid off.......found a unit that is Ford Mazda specific....OBDSTAR F100. The price is right, 258.00 Canadian delivered...duties will have to be added. Now some blank keys specific to the car from ebay $100.00 Canadian and $10.00 for the local hardware guys for cutting three keys...and for the grand sum of $368.00 I'll have 3 new keys. Just $68.00 more than a single key at the dealer.

Immobilizer showed up this week.....DHL shipping got it from Hong Kong to Nova Scotia in 4 days. Loomis Express lost it and moved it from Province to province then delivered it to the other end of the province before picking it up again and rerouting to Dartmouth, then Moncton, Then Dartmouth to Moncton, Then Moncton to somewhere else 3 times. ...but 19 days later they finally got it to me and it worked. I programmed 3 keys in about 5 minutes..so here is the run down...bought the 3 keys from the US cost was $65.76 Canadian shipping included....Home Hardware cut the keys for free (10 minutes total) I gave them $10.00 for the coffee fund. The immobilizer was $ 289.00 Canadian with shipping and taxes in...total amount $364.76..........Waiting for the brother in-law to see if the same guy that sold him his ford truck has his other spare key...once this is done the immobilizer gets sold on ebay or kijiji. The way I see it even if I get 1/2 ($150.00) of my money back from the immobilizer that works out to $214.00 for 3 keys. I was talking to a buddy of mine a week ago about this and he said he had a contact that could get me the keys for the card but they were $69.00 + TAXES each without being cut or coded...as it stands right now I have 3 NEW keys cut and coded for $71.58 TAXES in when the machine is sold. Something I have learned is you can only have 2 keys with the lock/unlock feature. Keys after the first 2 become Valet keys...but if you lose one of the primary keys you can go through the programming function to reprogram 2 keys as primary keys.
