2012 Mazda 5 Cruise Control
Hey everyone, first post!
I just recently purchased a 2012 Mazda 5 GS without cruise control and I was wondering if it was possible to have it installed? I've done a search and have seen some people say it's possibly while others say it's not - which left me confused. Spoke to numerous dealers and some said it would need to be programmed with the computer while others said it was not possible. Anyone? |
Yes it is possible, if you can find a dealer with the knowledge and effort to do so. For most dealers, they can't be bothered, so they say no. It isn't a simple procedure.

Yes, it requires MMDS, Mazda Modular Diagnostic System, Mazda's scan tool. Also it requires altering/modifying the coding for the PCM to activate the cruise control. Not a simple turn on/turn off setting.
Apart from adding a new brake light switch & wiring loom, plus the steering wheel buttons, it's basically manipulating the DNA of the individual vehicle. |

Perhaps an aftermarket cruise system?
