2009 Mazda 5 - cost to maintain?
Hello,
I have a 2009 Mazda 5 that I adore. It's the perfect car for my family.
I'm wondering for those out there with older 5's, what are your annual costs to maintain it?
What were the repairs you confronted as the years wore on?
I'm starting to wonder when or if there will be a cliff on this puppy. I've never had a car that I had to do more than basic maintenence on and this one seems to have something nearly every time I take it in. So far, nothing too big, but I'm worried about something coming down the pike as it still has decent trade in value and I'm weighing the cost/benefits now of trading it in.
It has 65,000 on it right now.
thanks all...

our 2006 has been on 3 mechanics lifts since we got it a 2 years ago they all say its in great shape with no issues. We have only replaced rear shocks and front struts and brakes. 110 km on our 5.
Thanks for your replies.
I've replaced brakes and tires after only one year. The check engine light just went off and it was the leak detection pump which is quite expensive to fix. One of the brackets that holds the engine in place is broken.
I maintain at the dealer and get tune ups etc. I don't think I drive it hard or anything. While these things are manageable, just made me think that perhaps the parts are poor quality and will just continue to break every couple years vs every 5 or 10 like my older cars?
I want it to last to hand over to my daughter, it will have over 120k by then. Is that a realistic goal?

I have a 2007 with about 95K miles on it. Had to replace the shocks, struts, thermostat and brakes during my ownership. That's it and those parts were replaced just this past year. And I am the original owner and did the work myself. It is a far cry from my 2000 Saab 9-5 Aero Wagon where I constantly had to put in $1000-$2000 annually to keep it running.
