Where's the front window defogger? And are the only keys flip keys?

Hello all,

Just bought a 2012 Mazda 3. Very happy with it so far, but I have some questions.

1. I found the rear window defogger just fine, and it works great, but where's the front window defogger button? I had one on my 2002 Mazda 626 but I don't see anything on the dash that looks like a front window defogger.

2. Are the only keys available for this car flip/switchblade-like keys?

3. I want to buy some extra keys. It sounds Iike I'd have to take them to a dealer to get them programmed--is that right? How much might that cost?

Thanks

S

1) Is your heater control manual dials or climate A/C?

2) Google automotive locksmiths, there maybe options for a standard style key.

3) Once again google automotive locksmiths in your area. Mazda aren't the only people who can supply, cut & code keys.

Understood about 2 and 3 but I am not sure how to answer question 1. How do I find out if I have heater control manual dials or climate A/C. FWIW I think I have climate A/C.

If you have automatic HVAC, you can set a temperature and then leave the system to adjust accordingly. If you have manual HVAC you have an analog control to set the level of heat/cooling. As for figuring out where your windscreen defogger button/control is, check your Owner's Manual (if you don't have one you can download one from the Mazda web site).
