Wheel Shaking Issues

Hi all,

I'm a new user here so please let me know if I should post this in a different place.

I have a 2010 Mazda3 2.5. Over the last few months, I have noticed that my steering has become very loose and my wheel shakes pretty badly when >60mph. It got to the point where it felt unsafe and the wheel was nearly violently shaking. Last weekend, I did a front end suspension overhaul and replaced control arms, tie rods, wheel bearing, wheel hub, and shock/struts on both sides. The only components in the wheel well I did not replace were the calipers, brake pads, brake rotors and steering knuckle. There is plenty of meat on the pads and the rotors do not appear to be in bad shape (no obvious warping, no significant lip, etc). These repairs definitely helped, but still, when I hit 70 mph+ I'm still getting quite a bit of shaking in my steering wheel. Any advice?

I had the same problem. After spending a poop-ton of money doing almost everything you did, turned out to be a bent rim. I rotated the tires criss cross applesauce and the issue disappeared. Curious to see if that's it.
