Turn signals won't work

I've got an '07 Mazda 3 and just started having turn signal issues. When I put either the left or right turn signal on, they flash erratically then cut off and don't flash at all. Sometimes they will only flash once and not work. The hazard lights will do the same thing. I checked the bulbs and they don't appear to be burnt out, but maybe there is something I am missing. Any reason for them to be doing this? Thanks for the help in advance

if the bulbs arent burnt they maybe you need a new flasher?

Had identical prob. 99 Protege 1.8L 90,000Km.
If it starts OK and goes after a few secs. and it affects both flash and turn, it's the relay almost certainly.
The contacts pit and stick after a while. When cold, the coil resistance is low so the current's enough to operate (sort of). After a few flashes though, the coil warms, resistance increases, current decreases, and everything poops out.
Don't know where your unit is, but I had a job finding mine. It was a plug-in high up under the dash half way between the steering wheel and left edge of the dashboard. If it operates you can feel the tick-tick through the case. The manufacturer's price around $20. I think you can get a generic for about $10.

Awesome, thanks for the help. Anyone on here know where that relay is by any chance?

I had a hard time finding mine on the protege. (The Mazda dealer told me it was in the engine fuse compartment, and it wasn't ! )
Re-read my last post, it may still be where I finally found mine. I suggest your follow your ears, and confirm by touch. Remember though, the warmer it gets, the sooner it fails, so do your homework when it's cool. Even the sun beating down on the car can effect the time for diagnosis. You don't need the engine running either.
Keep us advised on how you make out. Good luck.
