time for a brake job

65K and the brakes are about done. i have noticed every sense we got some decent summer tires on the car that the brakes felt like they had little bite and couldn't come close to locking up the tires. so im looking for a more performance oriented pad for the mazda. any suggestions? not really worried by dust but teh wife cant tolerate squeaky brakes. any experience on weather or not the rotors will need to be replaced or just turned would be appreciated as well.

TIA

RE: time for a brake job

i had my stock brakes and pads on for 35k mi and they had went up, the rotors were done and so was the braking materials was gone one side so the piston had permantly blown threw, it was about a grand to get new rear rotors, a new caliper, resurfaced the front rotors and 4 new pads, the most expensive part to replace the caliper about $300. I ended up getting some crappy duralast brake pads they suck, so i suggest staying away from autozone brand or anything like that parts. The most ones ive heard about was the Hawk HPS pads, about 80% less brake dust than stock.
