Slight shudder while stopped

Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if this is an idling problem b/c I haven't paid attention to the rpm gauge yet, but sometimes while I'm stopped at a red light the car will shudder a little bit like it's idling hard or something. The car is BARELY a month old. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what this is. If the rpm needle ISN'T falling, is there something else this could be? Is it normal? I'm just a little worried and the next time it does it I'll watch the rpm gauge to be sure. Thanks in advance for any help!

RE: Slight shudder while stopped

It's not normal having a rough idle on a car only a month old. Like you said - watch the RPM guage next time. All I can tell ya is that my car hasn't had a "rough" idle in the 6 months and 15k miles I've been driving it. Maybe check and make sure everything is connected properly with the intake (hoses, clamps etc) -just an idea. I'd schedule an appointment with your mazda dealership.

RE: Slight shudder while stopped

This is a pretty common problem. Something to do with the purge control valve, if I remember correctly. My car does this, and I've taken into the dealer 4 times for this exact problem and they say they can't replicate it and can't find anything wrong. So whatever, I'll live with it for now, it's not a huge deal, and if something ends up happening, well they have on file that I brought it in multiple times and nothing was done by them to fix it. Anyway hope this helps.
