Funny thing, I am a consulted engineer and have worked with three of the world's auto manufacturers over the years. Unless there are serious underlying issues with an engine, there is virtually never a justification for some sort of remedial cleaning, regardless of whether we're talking about Seafoam, the line of BG products, or whatever your favorite l'huile de serpent happens to be.
