Default Replace 2019 Active driving display

Display quit functioning after about 6 months. Part ordered by dealer. Time to repair went from an estimate of 45 minutes, to 2 hours to final guess of 8 hours. Appears to require removal of steering wheel, air bag, virtually all of front dash and some of cowl around the windshield wipers. This seems totally extreme to me! Can anyone confirm that such a major intervention is indeed required?

Isn't it covered under warranty?

Default Warranty coverage follow up

It is indeed covered by warranty. My concern is that the dealership does not seem to know what it is doing, based on the escalating estimated times to repair, and they have already left some scratches on the steering column when they attempted the 2 hour fix. I am hoping for some confirmation that this is the only way to do it, by someone who has in fact done it. Mine may be case 1!

The person you speak to at the front desk, or on the phone is normally not a mechanic, or service technician. They often have limited knowledge of recommended service or repair times.
If you have concerns, ask to speak to the service manager, or request a call back from the foreman.
