Remove Door panels 2011?
 

i am trying to install my subwoofers on my 2011 3. i intend on installing a high low converter connected to the rear speakers. i read on one DIY that there are two screws to remove the rear door panel. i dont see them on my car

can someone tell me how to remove the rear door panels on the 2011?

Here's a pic of a 2010 3 rear door. Carefully pry off the trim pieces. Take out the three screws and then all that's left is to pull gently around the perimeter of the door to release the pop clips, You might break a one or two clips but they are easily replaced.

the one thing i dont really know how to do is, get the wires from the door speaker to the trunk. would this require removing some of the trim panels?

how do you get acces to where the wires come through the body into the cabin from the door?

Truthfully you shouldn't be using the rear speaker leads for anything. The Mazda HU heavily equalizes them and cuts out the lows. You should install a PAC AOEM-MAZ-2 loc http://www.pac-audio.com/productDeta...&CategoryID=28 behind the headunit and use the pac's RCA's outs right to your sub. Note: The PAC loc is proven to be plug and play for the non Bose 2010's except for the remote amp turn on lead. Use the cars cigarette lighter, it's a 12v switched circuit for your amp turn on..

maybe i am mistaken, it appears that the use of that LOC will make it neccicary that i add an amplifier to power the regular speakers.

if i could, i would rather use the standard LOC i already have and i guess i would wire it to the front speakers.
-if i did this would you recommend spicing into the speaker wires behind the head unit or splicing the wires in one of the front door panels?

Yea, splicing into the front speakers behind the hu and then hiding the loc there is the cleanest way to do it. Then it's easy to run one pair of rca's around the edge of the car under the door trim pieces.. You have a seperate volume control for your amp thats going to power your sub right? Here's a sheet that shows the speaker wire colors. Not 100% sure about it being correct. You have to test the wires to make sure.

the amp i have for my subs has a plug for a bass knob but i dont have it.

when i change the volume on the head unit it changes the volume that the subs are receiving right?

The sub will totally over power your front speakers without a seperate control. If you hook your sub up to the rear speakers the lack of lows will make you sub sound like crap. Get the volume control!
