Default Rear view diffracted light vertically at night

I got my new Mazda 3 2020 last month and tonight was the first time I had the opportunity driving at night. I noticed that when looking at the rear view mirror all car headlights or red lights were diffracted vertically, i.e. you see many lights vertically . It seems to me that the defrost wires in the back windshield may Cause the lights to be diffracted. Has anyone experienced this?
thanks

do you think the tinted film should be replaced? Didn’t think of that!

Unfortunately the demister bars/lines aren't flush with the glass, when the tint goes over the glass it will sit in waves over each line. Some tinters are better at the job than others.

You can try taking it back and explain your issues, but I don't like your chances.

I have a similar issue with my 2012 Mazda 3 rear screen.

I went to my Mazda dealer and he said it’s due to the defroster lines. He also said the tint was well placed and basically there’s nothing he can do.
but I live in Tucson where all cars are tinted. It is hard to believe that I’m the only one with Mazda 3 2020 with this issue. Why doesn’t it happen with other Mazda? I believe the defrost lines may be too thick or rather the tinted film i is defective. Driving with these reflections is not fun. In my view it can be a liability as it can cause headaches especially when there are so many cars . So what did you do? I intend to call Mazda USA...

check out the image below...

Notice the Refracted/diffracted lights due to the defrost lines in rear view windshield. Yes there is all a tinted film.

Mazda don't tint windows, its a third party thru your dealership.

Mazda isn't responsible for the effect of the tinting.

I think you either need to remove it, or live with it. Or try contacting other tinters in your area and see if they can do a better job.
