Question about tires.

I read other threads about tirers, but my question is specific to one tire.
Is any one running B.F Goodrich TA KDW on their three 3, and if so tell me what you think of them.
Mine are making so much noise, I thought it was a wheel bearing going out.
The dealer said that one of the bearings needed to be replaced so, being under warranty, they did both.
They also said the tires were to blame for the noise.
They must be correct because after putting in the new bearings, the noise is the same, and I notice it is louder at slower speeds.
I am hoping to solve the issue with new Yokohamas "S DRIVE" tires.
They also get good reviews on their YK520 tires but, I don't need an all season tire in SOcal.
Any one have experience with yoko tires?
Thanks,
Bob.

RE: Question about tires.

I recently installed Yokohama Advan Sports on my car. Traction and ride quality is good, but I've only had these for a couple of months, so tread life/wear is still TBD.Since they are performance tires, I don't really have high expectations for a longtread life, butI'm hopinganyway. :)Tirerack.com is a good site to compare options and read reviews.

RE: Question about tires.

That's where I came across the yokos.
They have a good price also.
My biggest need in a tire is one that is quiet.
The falkins on my Dakota are wearing extremely well, and they are reasonably quiet, but the falkins used on cars seem to have some problems, one of which is they are noisy.
I don't expect a ride like a Lincoln towncar, but as long as the tires have a low noise level.
Bob.

RE: Question about tires.

I'd say the noise level on the Yoko Advan Sports are low. I agree with youthat it's an important criteria for tire selection.

RE: Question about tires.

I have the Yoko YK520's on mine. As far as road noise they are a little noisier than the stock tires but it is manageable. Not so noisy that you can't have a conversation with someone in the car next to you. For the price I think they perform pretty well. I can be a pretty aggressive driver at times and these tires really stick to the road. So far i've been happy with these.

If the tires are to lame its because the are flat spoted on the inside edge. These cars run a pretty agressive camber out back and if you push your car around corners under braking you'll flat spot them very quickly. There are ajustable control arms out there for these cars I don't advise doing this thou they're very hard to get set rite and the handling of the car goes down for the sake of longer tire ware. I run Hancook vetus v4's they are noisy but boy do they stick to the road.

Hey lawdog. I've got the YK520 installed now, done yesterday. Have you experienced really bad body roll after getting these installed? I was running summer performance tires, and wasn't experiencing hardly any body roll at all. Anyone else go from summer tires to all seasons or winter tires and experience the increased body roll?

I run Sumitomo HTRZ II tires in the summer, they are pretty good. I got them with my car and was happy to find out they had some good ratings on tirerack.

I switch to Good Year Nordic tires in winter time. They definitely make a difference in cornering. Body roll is definitely more pronounced. Winter tires have softer silica compounds which keep them flexible in freezing temperatures, hence the increased body roll I suspect.

I had Yokey A520s on a Taurus SHO a while back and they were fabulous. Terrible in the cold/snow but fantastic warm/wet weather performance. I have hadreall good luck with the Riken Raptors my car came with. Not overly noisy and great performance.
