i don't see why that wouldn't have been a wise investment... i think you did the right thing for your car. alot of people have gone with the AEM cai and haven't complained about it (better performance and smoother shifting)... two good benefits from it, plus you get better gas mileage and a nice growl.

now if you are going with a turbo setup, you will need a new intake besides the AEM to get the reaping benefits from that modification. i think you have definitely made a great decision in helping your vehicle out, let us know what you think of it.

hey bill: ive had my aem cai on since november of 2004. you made a great choice! are you getting the synthetic dryflow oilless filter with the system? and if you have a sedan, ive read a number of outcries on other forums about small amounts of water getting into the tubing, not enough to endanger the engine though...you might want to look into making a custom splash guard for it. good luck.

yes it is the oilless filter cai, i have the hatchback version, but anyways why would the water be causing problems for only the sedan? is cuz more people own the sedan then the hatchback?

the AEM is a piece of ****. My dealership has had 3 people including me that have tried to install it and they never could figuire out how to get the code right. I have heard several people on here that have had the same problem. I think the K+N would be a better route! I had one on my Mazda truck and never had a problem with it!

you have to change some computer code. Otherwise your check engine light will be on all the time!

some people don't mind driving around with the CEL on... but i believe the K&N and the AEM cold air intakes both put out just about the same exact amount of torque on the 3. i've actually heard no complaints about the K&N at all.
