So here is the story... today i was sleeping and i woke up to a great sound.. my brother comes in my room and tells me that while he was driving my car he broke the power steering somehow. F***********************K. im mad. anyway for all of you who know... is this covered under warranty... cuz really if its gonna cost alot (and if that damn piece of plastic underneath the car costs 270$ its gonna rape me) then im gonna drive around without power steering

 

First off check the relay under the hood, it is an 80 amp and it is #2.
If that is good then the power steering pump as long as you car is under warranty will be covered.

 

same problem, my power steering went out maybe 10 days ago and its been at the dealer. they say i need a new ps pump, which is currently on back order. they don't know when it'll be here. it should be covered under warranty if you have the 5 year 100,000 mile power train warranty or whatever it is, then your fine.

 

Have a look at what I posted today on the general tech forum re premature power steering system failures in late model Mazdas, then do a "Search Forums" search using power steering as keywords.
Maybe the delay in getting pump replacements is due to high demand.

 

yep its covered under warranty.
