Default Power steering

I know this issue has been addressed many times before, but here's my problem...
I got a 2010 mazda 3 .. only 800 miles on board and the PS pump is loud as hell.
The dealer won't consider replacing it because the car has been in a accident, however the PS pump was untouched.
They claim the load noise is coming from air getting into the system because of the accident. So I guess they admit it's not normal for the pump to whine that bad but they won't honor the warranty because of the accident although the pump has no physical damage at all .
What are my options?
Also, here's a weird idea. I have a 90 Amp alternator (mazda 3 2007) instead of the OEM 100 amp alternator, could this cause the whine in the pump? I saw other people posting online about hearing loud noise coming from the ps pump after they did some modifications to the electrical system, like new HID lights or new sound system. Just a thought since the pump is a electric one. Could it be the alternator causing the problem?
Thanks!

my 06 makes the same noise, nothing wrong with it just a little loud but you cant hear it outside the car unless the hood is up and your close by. It may have gotten a tad louder when i put my HID's in but i have an speed 3 exhaust so i dont hear it, and when i do it doesnt bother me

I guess my next question would be, if this sound it's normal , why don't we have it when we buy the car new?. I test droved a few mazda 3 (new ones) at the dealer and i paid close attention.

i honestly couldnt tell you, mine has made that noise for 6 years and i havent had a problem. considering its electric there isnt much you can do to see if you have a problem, its either good or it goes bad, id say check your ps fluid from time to time make sure its not going anywhere but again its sounds just like mine.

Im sure you could pick one up at a junk yard for cheap then replace it and see if it helps. I have an 06 and i don't hear mine at all and i enough bass in my trunk that it dims the headlights so i think if that was the problem id have it too lol
