passenger airbag
 

i notice that whenever i start my car and i have a passenger onboard the passenger airbag light off stays iluminated, and the light only goes away when i ask my passengerto getoff the car.anyone else have this problem?

the passenger is not heavy enough or the passenger is not sitting there properly for the sensors to detect his/her weight. The owner's manual explaines this in details.

yeah, how much does your passenger weigh? If they weigh more than 40 pounds then it should be turning off. If so then talk to your dealer to see if they can find a problem.

same here. the lgiht turns onONLY when my girlfriend sits there (i tell her the car doesnt like her and wantsher to get out [8D]). she weighs about 95 lbs.

It also could be just the way she sits on the seat, the sensor is in the middle of the pad so if she sits to one side it might not be sensing properly. This is kind of inportant because the air bag will not deploy at full strength if the car thinks there is just a small child seated there. (that's what the light means..there is someone there but not a full size adult). It's a safety issue ,small kids can be hurt by a full force airbag but adults need a full force airbag to properly protect them in an accident. Get her to try moving around to see if the light goes out if not GET IT CHECKED ASAP.

lol my sis weighs about the same. i noticed it when she sits there. but the light goes out after she steps out of the car and sits right back in. im going to get someone hevier to sit in the passenger when i start the car.

thats because if you read the thing. your not supposed to have anybody under the weight of 110 lbs. so speedy that means your girlfriend should prolly be sitting in the backseat ;)
