new owner- 2012 Mazda 3- What's Shakin ? Me or the Car
Hey ,
My name is Dan, I lost 2 vehicles in 8 days recently. Real good time to be car shopping (yeah)... SO I have an 09 Accord, I was looking at a few newer ones (V6's), I drove maybe 12 vehicles in 2 weeks. 5/15 /21 I was leaving a test drive of a Subaru Legacy and opened up a search for Mazda 3 after seeing one on the lot. I went and tested the 2011 Mazda 3. It may have had a 2.5 ltr. 95,000 miles- I was impressed with the handling and fun ness of the car. After a 10 minute drive I knew I liked it enough to go check out the Grand Touring cleaner 2012 with 77,000 and most of the options.
I have had it since 5/25, today I drove it about 80 miles , I dig it.
When I test drove it at the dealers I told the dude when I get up to 70-80 the "steering shakes"? I also mentioned the tire rotation warning was "on", I think I am tripping on that ... anyways newer tires, they replaced a tire iron (reason I waited, wrong part sent) and he said they found nothing wrong.
He told me drive it for a couple weeks then bring it in and they will check it out.
So when this car gets to about 80 MPH there IS EXPECTED SHAKING I am thinking.... the steering straight, I took a left turn on a dead city street at 30 today and it hugs. I got up to 90 today and it was no worse than 80. I had a 260Z when I was younger, now at 120 that thing SHOOK... .
I drove 2 Mazda 3 's while I waited for mine, a 2014 2.5 sky - I had the dealer tag along so I could not get it past 80, I do NOT recall as much vibration from that car.
I drove a 2013- like mine and never thought to go to fast.
So I really dont know.... I think it is expected to have some vibration. I will take it in anyways for peace of mind.
Do you think I'm tripping ?
Sounds like I got a problem- ?
Hard to say-
