I just changed my break pads (not rotors). The breaks feel much softer than normal, and the total time to stop has increased. Also - my parking break isn’t as effective as it was prior. It still works, but I still get a small amount of rope if I put the car in drive and hit the gas. I’ve seen that it may take up to 100 miles to form a bond on old rotors. Is that the case? Trying to put my mind at ease here.

Update - after pumping the parking brake significantly the breaks no longer feel soft. However, the parking break is still weak.

When You replace pads, You have to push pistons. It is tricky due rust under seals and no-grease condition. I have to "rebuild" all rubber parts, use ATE Plastilube, refill it.... after authorized service work.

Parking brake have mechanical "line" (bowden, lever and screw under piston), pumping brake fluid doesn't do nothing. EDIT: pumping may-be =You set self adjuster after push piston, but it is service work step ...

Poor brakes= dirty rotors or pads (grease, oil, brake fluid) or air bubles inside fluid lines. May-be free screws (bad service work) ... New pads take shape very quickly (tens km).
